Edmond and I were excited to see Mr. Blackmore here in San Diego, at the PhotoFusion Revolution Tour. Being one of Canon’s Explorers of Light, why wouldn’t we be excited, right! 🙂 Mr. Blackmore went over some awesome poses as well as several different studio lighting techniques! With a slight turn here, and a slight turn there, he showed all of us how to light ‘correctly’. Although Ed and I don’t work in the studio, the same principles still can be applied to our outdoor sessions. (You definitely have to know the basic principles in order to get creative.) Clay Blackmore truly knows how to photograph everyone! He has a great sense of humor and his passion for photography made us want to strive harder with our business. In the four hour workshop, we learned how to photograph men, women, children, families, brides, couples, and groups. You should definitely check him out again when he comes back to San Diego.
We were also interested in Jeff Medford and Ross Hockrow’s presentation of HDSLR cinema. They spoke about how to incorporate HDSLR video techniques into your photography. We are much aware of how cinema has taken over multimedia creations. Ed came across the crew on-line called Stillmotion earlier this year. This group is AMAZING! Their work is flawless, and their story tellling exceeded our expectations. Overall..well their just great 🙂 You have to see their work for yourself to experience what cinema has become! This past summer we were fortunate to have met the whole Stillmotion crew, along with Ray and Joyce of Rayjoyce studios. Awesome cinematographers as well based in Los Angeles.(check out their blog here. ) So coming into this Tour, we were well informed of what our Canon EOS 5D MarkII can do! Ross and Jeff taught us their basic skills and how they do things. Very talented guys. We learned more creative techniques from Jeff and Ross as well. Thank you guys for showing us your talents and creations…you both are AWESOME cinematographers! 🙂
So…overall did we enjoy it? Heck yea! :)We had a fabulous time! We met some wonderful people and most of all, it inspired us to take NEMA onto a whole other level! Here are a few shots of the night…we didn’t get Ross and Jeff only because we were too fasinated with your presentation and forgot to snap a image! Sorry!
Have a good one! -Mar
